Overseas Citizenship of India

Please register on line at https://passport.gov.in/oci/OnlineOCIRegistrationG.jsp after reading the details of the scheme, as above. After doing so, a hard copy is required to be submitted to the Embassy, so please download the application registered by you on-line. (When you click print on it, the complete form with instructions for submitting the hard copy to the Embassy will be printed. Please fill in pages 2 & 3 in ink and submit them to the Embassy with the required enclosures -- copy of foreign passport and copies of Indian passport or other document on the basis of which the OCI is sought) in 2 sets  --  alongwith the fee of Euro 360.00.

This can be done either personally during Consular Hours or by registered post. Applications sent by post should be sent by registered mail, alongwith a self-addressed envelope duly stamped for registered mail. Kindly note that the fees is to be paid through Postal money order or Bank Draft favouring the "Embassy of India, Dublin". Personal cheques, credit cards, cash or payments in other currencies are not acceptable.

The Embassy will contact the applicant by e-mail to request the Passport to be presented for issue of a life-long visa and for delivery of the OCI booklet on approval of the application (within 30 days of receipt of the application).

Existing PIO Card holders can apply for OCI as above on payment of fees of Euros 21 only. The PIO Card wil be required to be surrendered at the time of grant of the OCI booklet.

Minors (under 18s)

Minor children of Indian nationals are not eligible for OCI; only children of parents who hold foreign nationality are.


PIO Cards

After reading the details of the Scheme above, please download the application form . After filling in the form, please submit it with the required enclosures (copy of foreign passport, previously held Indian passport or any other document on the basis of which the PIO card is sought) in duplicate to the Embassy, along with the fee (Euro 300 for Adults and Euro 150 for Minors).

Additional requirement for Minors (who are foreign nationals) of Indian parents

Please submit the application along with a copy of birth certificate of the minor child and copies of Indian passports of the parents (with names of spouse entered in both parents' PP) or their Marriage Certificate (in addition to copy of foreign passport of the child and fee of euros 150).

The Embassy will intimate approval of the application and readiness of the PIO card, or otherwise, by e-mail (within 15 days of receipt of the application).
