INFORMATION ON ATTESTATION OF DOCUMENTS

        



  [ In the interest of reliable and authentic communication, we request that all queries/ requests  be made in writing by e-mail/fax/post (or into the box kept at the counter). Staff at the counter assist in filling up the forms, if any clarification is needed, but kindly note that they are not authorised to respond to any other enquiries (about delivery dates, processing time etc). The Embassy therefore regrets its inability to honor any  information claimed to have been given, or commitments made, by any member of the staff orally.]

 

Document attestation is done immediately, on the basis given below. A copy of the document(s) to be attested and of the Passport of the individual is required to be submitted in all cases, alongwith presentation of the (original) Passport. Documents sent by post should be sent by registered mail and be accompanied by a self-addressed envelope, duly stamped for Registered Mail, for return post. (Kindly note that this would be at the sender's risk --  of loss/damage in transit.)

(i) Indian documents:

Documents must have been attested by the Consular Section, Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi.     (Fee as prescribed in the fee schedule below.)

(ii) Irish documents :

Documents must have been attested by the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs, Dublin.   (Fee as prescribed in the fee schedule)

(iii) Other foreign documents:

Documents must have been attested by the Embassy of the country concerned in Ireland.   (Fee as prescribed in the fee schedule)

(iv) Attestation of Signatures of Indian passport holders on documents viz. Affidavits, Power of Attorney, Account opening forms, etc:

The Passport holder has to present the PP and sign the documents in the presence of the Consular Officer.     (Fee as prescribed in the fee schedule.)

(i)  Fees are subject to change, depending upon the Rate of Exchange prescribed by the Govt of India.

(ii) Fees should be paid by a crossed postal order or Bank draft in Euros, drawn in favour of the "Embassy of India, Dublin" and payable in Dublin. Credit cards/cheques/cash, or payments in other currencies, are not acceptable.
