Castle was
formerly the home of the famous Indian cricketer, Ranji, after whom India's national trophy is
named. Maharajah Ranjitsinghji used to make annual trips to Ballynahinch with his entourage of
attendants, elephants and all the regal paraphernalia due to the ruler of a princely estate in his
time. It is now a Hotel with just a few photographs reminding the visitor of the times gone
by.
