IMPORTANT NOTICE

A separate ICWF (Indian Community Welfare Fund) account is now being fully operational w.e.f 01.12.2015. An amount of €2/- for ICWF was included as service charge for all the services provided (i.e Visa, Passport, OCI & misc services etc.). Henceforth, applicants are advised to submit two separate Bank draft/Postal Order one for visa/passport/OCI/Misc charges and another for €2/- for ICWF which may be paid either in Postal Order/Bank draft. Both the Bank drafts/Postal Order should be in favour of the Indian Embassy.

PERSON OF INDIAN ORIGIN (PIO) CARD

This is to inform that vide Gazette Notification No.26011/01/2014IC.I dated 09.01.2015, all PIO Cards issued till 09.01.2015 are deemed to be OCI Cards. PIO Card scheme has been withdrawn vide Gazette Notification No.25024/9/2014F.I dated 09.01.2015.  Henceforth, applicants are requested to apply for OCI card ONLY, as PIO Card Scheme is no longer in existence.


Henceforth, all PIO Card holders are requested to apply for OCI card, free of charge, (€2/- for ICWF is payable).  The validity of PIO card will end on 31.12.2016.  

Applicants applying for transfer of valid PIO to OCI, may submit online application for OCI in lieu of PIO Card free of cost at ‘’https://passport.gov.in/oci’’.
